The last few months, Baird and I have been concerned that he isn't saying as many words as his sister did at this age. (almost 2) She was chatting up a storm by two, and if you know her she hasn't stopped yet. Ash knows some words... like shoe (thanks meg!) and bye bye and animal sounds... car, dog, go, yay, hi. bye... and more... but we were a little concerned.<br /><br />He has been pointing at letters lately and making sounds. At least thats what I thought he was doing. The other day, he found some of Zoe's old flashcards with letters on them.... He was going through them, picking one up and saying something, then going to the next. I really wasn't paying too much attention, I think I was being El Tigre for Zoe... then I stopped and started looking at what he was doing.<br /><br />And amazingly, he knew some of the letters! He seems to know E and O and L and X and M (says Mmmmmmmm) and H. OH MY GOODNESS... where did he learn that? He knows like ten letters! Ash's shoes and coat...<br /><br />I arrived at her school to get her inside, and went to put on her shoes... and i had two white shoes that were different. One tennis shoe and one sandal.<br /><br />I would have just had her be odd today, but they were both for the RIGHT foot. OOPS<br /><br />They go outside at 9:20 or so... so I had to run to target and buy her shoes.<br /><br />Poor thing limped into school with a shoe on the wrong foot. Her teacher laughed at her and said it was quite a "zoe thing to do"... and I had to say that I couldn't blame this on her.. was all me. So she said that the apple didnt fall far from the tree. So she says... "I don't want any tornado soup" or "I'd like my sandwich without any tornados" Coming right up!<br /><br />She also has a word for when she is sick and vomiting. She says... that she feels like she has spitage. Sounds about a good a word as any to describe that awfulness! Spitage. Friday night we went out and saw a movie and had dinner. Saw Juno, which was very good! <br /><br />Saturday Zoe had a birthday party, which I almost forgot about. (oops) I realized at 11 that the party started at 12:30, I hadn't rsvp'd and I had no gift.<br /><br />Today is a day of cleaning. Have done a few loads of laundry, some dishes, played Big Brain Academy with Zoe. Baird is out hitting some golf balls and then he's going to stop at the store. If he really wants to score some points, he'll bring Chipotle too! Now we think it would be smarter to not build with the market the way it is, and buy a house <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">that's</span> a steal. The steps sound easy.<br /><br />1. Find a House<br /><br />2. Make an Offer<br /><br />3. Buy House<br /><br />4. Move in<br /><br />We've yet to make it past step one. We've found places where we LOVE the backyard, but the house is horrid.... places where we love the house, but the yard leaves something to be desired .. houses that are perfect in every way except that we aren't rich. Out out out of our price range.<br /><br /><br /><br />Right now we are considering putting an offer on a house, but first Baird wants to know that he can take the kitchen that has a weird set up and make it normal. I spend some time drawing up the floor plan, and come up with a great option. I thought I'd mail it to Baird at work but didn't want to find the scanner and mess with that. So I attempted to draw it in Microsoft Paint. Ash and Zoe will only eat a Supreme <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Croissant</span> with cheese (no ham or egg or bacon). I have to repeat my self several times to the woman/man on the other end of the speaker. Here's a sample:<br /><br />Me: I'd like a Supreme <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Croissant </span>with a diet coke and two more <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">croissants</span> with only cheese.<br />Them: <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Ma am</span>, the supreme <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">croissant</span> comes with cheese, would you like extra cheese.<br />Me: No, ONLY cheese please<br />Them: It comes with cheese<br />Me: I'd like a <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">croissant</span>, put cheese on it, close it.. give it to me.<br /><br /><span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Then</span> the same guy comes on and saves me and says, two <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">croissants</span> with cheese... I think he lives there.
