Funny Sayings

Last night, I scared Zoe. I jumped out and said boo before bed. And she said...

"You scared me so much, my heart was beeping so fast"

Made me think about all the other cute things (probably cute only to me and baird... but on the blog some go)

She calls tomatoes... tornados. So she says... "I don't want any tornado soup" or "I'd like my sandwich without any tornados" Coming right up!

She also has a word for when she is sick and vomiting. She says... that she feels like she has spitage. Sounds about a good a word as any to describe that awfulness! Spitage. I think I'll use it too.... :)

Weekend

Not much going on this weekend. Friday night we went out and saw a movie and had dinner. Saw Juno, which was very good!

Saturday Zoe had a birthday party, which I almost forgot about. (oops) I realized at 11 that the party started at 12:30, I hadn't rsvp'd and I had no gift.

Today is a day of cleaning. Have done a few loads of laundry, some dishes, played Big Brain Academy with Zoe. Baird is out hitting some golf balls and then he's going to stop at the store. If he really wants to score some points, he'll bring Chipotle too! I'm super excited that they opened on here in town.

No pictures today!

Tuesday Morning

Zoe has been sleeping in her room and she had to have this parrot as her 'reward' (bribe). He is a big hit with the entire family!

Here is Z this morning, not sure if she is feeling 100 percent. Its not often she is ever slowed down from super zoom speed.

MLK Day

No school today for Zoe, so instead we cleaned out the closet under the stairs and made room for her to have a space inside. She's been in there all day, even attempted to take her nap in there... (didn't quite work) After nap, she decided she ABSOLUTELY had to call her best friend, Jackson. First time to call another human besides daddy. :)

Here she is in her secret room chatting away on the phone.

Here is Ash at breakfast. He's all smiling there, but he's been a grump today. :)

To buy or build or sit or stay or live in a box...

We own a lot, or two or three... and we had plans to build. Now we think it would be smarter to not build with the market the way it is, and buy a house that's a steal. The steps sound easy.

1. Find a House

2. Make an Offer

3. Buy House

4. Move in

We've yet to make it past step one. We've found places where we LOVE the backyard, but the house is horrid.... places where we love the house, but the yard leaves something to be desired .. houses that are perfect in every way except that we aren't rich. Out out out of our price range.

Right now we are considering putting an offer on a house, but first Baird wants to know that he can take the kitchen that has a weird set up and make it normal. I spend some time drawing up the floor plan, and come up with a great option. I thought I'd mail it to Baird at work but didn't want to find the scanner and mess with that. So I attempted to draw it in Microsoft Paint. It made me giggle... so thought I'd upload it here.

A crafty afternoon

Here we are after nap, doing our favorite thing.... crafting. Zoe is doing a special friend project. Ash is busy doing some abstract art .. and I'm researching decoration for our possible new home. So mine isn't technically a craft, per se, but I've got some crafting projects lined up.

Here is Zoe after the bath this afternoon all in crazy mode! :)

It's cold!

This morning we left the house early so that our cleaning ladies could come in and work without us bothering them by hanging around. Also, I always feel like I should help them since its my house they are cleaning. So instead of helping... I leave. :)

We headed to Jack in the Box and ate some very good, but very fattening sandwiches. Ash and Zoe will only eat a Supreme Croissant with cheese (no ham or egg or bacon). I have to repeat my self several times to the woman/man on the other end of the speaker. Here's a sample:

Me: I'd like a Supreme Croissant with a diet coke and two more croissants with only cheese.
Them: Ma am, the supreme croissant comes with cheese, would you like extra cheese.
Me: No, ONLY cheese please
Them: It comes with cheese
Me: I'd like a croissant, put cheese on it, close it.. give it to me.

Then the same guy comes on and saves me and says, two croissants with cheese... I think he lives there. He is always there.

Baby is throwing himself on the floor in despair... more later.

Countdown: Five, Four....

So here I am! Thrilled and excited to be starting a blog of my very own. I had about an hour free, so I sat down and started the process of starting this here blog. Little did I know, that it would take fifty of those sixty mintues, agonizing over what in the world I should call my blog. Toyed with adding my name... Mara's Mommyhood Adventures. My kids names.... The many Adventures of Zoe and Ash (reminscient of Winnie the Pooh)... I thought perhaps, if it was THEIR blog.. they should learn how to type (and read and write... being one and four.. they aren't quite there yet) and since it is MY new blog, I should leave some room for me to discuss other topics besides them (if there ever happens to be ANY)

So now, I've got a total of five minutes to write and post this very first, and very important, blog message. If I take any more time, I will not have the time to get to my daughters school to pick her up. I'm not sure that the excuse... "I'm sorry I was not here on time, but I REALLY had to finish my very first blog entry" ... would go over all that well.

For all those more experienced bloggers out there. Did you get buyers remorse after clicking that button that sealed your blog name? Did you wonder if your title was just super lame? If you should take more time and do some research and come up with something that would describe you so much more completely than the one you chose? I certainly do... of course I am comforted by the fact that there is no one that knows this blog exists yet.

One minute to go... so I'm going to leave and post this picture of two of the most important people in the world to me. And whose stories and lives will be the driving force and the content behind probably every post in this thing I call a blog.
